Frequently asked questions
What Alba is, how packing from one photo works, accounts and privacy — and where to ask when something here doesn't cover it: travel@withalba.app.
What is Alba?
Alba is a trip-packing app for iPhone and Android. It turns every trip into one readiness checklist — Essentials, travel docs, clothing, meds — and tells you exactly what's still missing before you zip the bag.
How does packing with a photo work?
Lay everything out on the bed and take one photo. Alba cuts out each object, matches it to your checklist, and ticks it off — packed, with its own cutout as proof. There's no tapping through a list.
Is Alba free?
Yes. Alba is free to download and use on iPhone and Android.
Do I need an account, and how do I sign in?
Yes — you create a free Alba account to use the app. You can sign in with Google or Apple. Signing in lets Alba securely save your trips and sync them across your devices, and lets you share a trip so you can pack it together with family or friends.
What personal data does Alba request, and why?
When you sign in with Google, Alba only requests your basic profile — your name and email address. We use it solely to create and secure your account and to identify you to people you share a trip with. Alba does not request access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar, or files, and never sells your data. Your trips and packing photos are stored only to power the app and sync your devices. See our Privacy Policy at withalba.app/privacy for full details.
Which devices does Alba support?
Alba is available on iPhone (iOS) and Android — download it free from the App Store or Google Play. The photo-packing feature uses your phone's camera to identify and tick off each item.
Can I pack for my whole family?
Yes. Alba groups items by traveler, so you can pack for everyone on the trip and track readiness for the whole party in one place.
How does Alba know what I still need to pack?
Every item belongs to a section and counts toward a single readiness score. As you pack, the score climbs and Alba surfaces the remaining gaps item by item — so you always know what's left.
