Terms of Service
Last updated 26 June 2026
These Terms govern your use of Alba, the trip-packing app, and the website at withalba.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and the entity operating Alba (“Alba”, “we”, “us”). They incorporate our Privacy Policy. By accessing or using the Service you confirm that you accept these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of others — for example, adding family members or children you pack for — you confirm you are authorised to do so. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
3. The Service
Alba helps you prepare for trips: it turns each trip into a readiness checklist, lets you add the people and items you’re packing, scans items with your camera to tick them off, lets you store and track travel documents, and surfaces convenience information such as weather, places, currency, and destination health guidance. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.
4. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your device and sign-in credentials secure. Tell us promptly at travel@withalba.app if you suspect unauthorised use.
5. Your content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of the content you put into Alba — your trips, lists, photos, people, and documents (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you (including syncing it and sharing it with collaborators you choose). You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to add it, including the right to add another person’s details or document.
6. Travel documents and sensitive data
You may choose to store sensitive information in Alba, such as passport, ID, or driver’s license details. Alba encrypts travel documents on your device and gates sensitive fields behind biometric authentication, as described in the Privacy Policy. However:
- You decide what to store, and you do so at your own discretion and risk.
- You are responsible for the security of your device, passcode, and biometrics.
- No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee that stored information can never be accessed by others.
- Alba is a convenience tool, not an official system of record; always carry valid physical documents and confirm requirements with the issuing authority.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully, or to store or share content you have no right to;
- upload another person’s documents or personal data without authority;
- attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent the security of the Service;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, except where the law expressly permits it;
- use the Service to infringe intellectual property or privacy rights.
8. Health, travel, and informational content
Alba may display destination health guidance, weather, place information, currency rates, and similar content. This information is provided for convenience only and comes from third-party sources, including the CDC, WHO, and the World Bank for health guidance.
- It is not medical, legal, financial, immigration, or travel advice.
- Alba is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the CDC, WHO, the World Bank, or any government body.
- It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. We are not responsible or liable for it, and you rely on it at your own risk.
- Always confirm entry, visa, vaccination, and health requirements with the official authorities and a qualified professional before you travel.
9. AI features
The “scan to pack” feature may use AI to recognise items, and may send cropped photos of your items to a third-party AI provider, as described in the Privacy Policy. AI matching is probabilistic and may be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing matches and for confirming what you have actually packed. Alba is not liable for items mismatched, missed, or forgotten.
10. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on and links to third parties (for example, sign-in, maps, weather, imagery, and eSIM partners). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products, availability, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party’s own terms and privacy policy. References to eSIM or other partners are not endorsements, and Alba is not affiliated with them unless expressly stated.
11. Intellectual property
The Service — including the Alba name, logo, software, design, and content we provide — is owned by Alba or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as the law allows or we permit in writing.
11.1 Fonts and third-party acknowledgements
Alba is grateful to the makers of the open-source and licensed work it builds on. Trademarks and fonts remain the property of their respective owners, and our use does not imply any endorsement by them.
- Recoleta— the “Alba” wordmark is set in Recoleta, a typeface by Latinotype, used under a font licence obtained through Fontspring. The wordmark ships as static vector outlines; the font software itself is not distributed in the app or on this website.
- Plus Jakarta Sans (Tokotype) — the interface typeface, used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- Lucide icons, used under the ISC License.
- Meteocons by Bas Milius (weather animations) and Fluent Emoji by Microsoft (item icons), both used under the MIT License.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any information, matching, or reminder will be accurate or complete. You are responsible for your own trip readiness and travel decisions.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alba and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed flights, missed items, denied entry, or other travel losses, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Alba harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right — including adding another person’s data without authority.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. You can delete your account and data by emailing travel@withalba.app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnification) will survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the entity operating Alba is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence give you additional rights or a different forum. The specific governing jurisdiction is available on request at travel@withalba.app.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
